One for all and all for one!
A marine recruit learns that real teamwork requires him to put the interests of the team before his own. We must abandon our tendency to be selfish or else the team will suffer. That is why any marine can tell you that when one of their own fails, they all suffer ~ reward or punishment applies to all.
Here at the Institute, we believe that the first priority of every leader is to find and develop great employees. We call them "A Players!" An "A Team" of employees is built one "A Player" at a time. Teamwork depends on trust amongst its members - trust in competence and character. A Players have both. Real teamwork begins to flourish when these basic ingredients are in place and made a priority. The tolerance for risk increases the more we trust. This paradox extends to each member's willingness to share the load as well as carry the whole load. Authentic loyalty is borne from this shared experience. Most employees want to find meaning and fulfillment from their work. To be an "A Player" takes more than talent, skill or desire ... we have to practice and build up good habits!
Any discussion about helping your business to build up team effectiveness begins with a detailed understanding of how the leaders of the business view their employees and work. Teamwork takes good leadership.
Building sustainable teamwork is difficult because it is so poorly understood. Our consultants have proven techniques to help you succeed in building an "A Team" consisting of "A Players."
